Don’t Stop, Keep Going!

Last night I did a great workout on the track. I did a total of twelve laps. Starting, I was smiling, listening to music, and everything was going smooth, but on the last two laps, I began to feel uncomfortable. I was working out with two other family members, and one told me if I was hurting bad, we could all stop. I wanted to continue, so we kept going. Although I didn’t feel my best, they cheered me on until we finally finished our final lap.

At this age, I have the mindset to keep going. Some days might get hard, but what is a success without a challenge? Doing those last two laps might seem simple to you, but the lesson of it all was to keep going no matter how uncomfortable I felt. At times in our lives, we won’t feel comfortable, but that doesn’t mean we need to stop moving forward. By not giving up, it only causes us to keep moving forward no matter what comes our way. I remember a close friend once asked me, “Aeriel have you ever failed at anything/been rejected?”. I told that friend yes many times, but I kept going. When you keep going, people can’t always see the times that you failed, but they notice when you win.

So how do you keep going? Like my father said, “it’s all in your mind!” You have to believe in yourself and toss out any negative thoughts. Encourage yourself and have faith that you can do all things and research any goal. Also having faith and doing something to back that faith up will push you forward. In other words, believe it before you can see it! Pray about it and be about it.

Lastly, Have the right people in your circle. How do you expect to move forward when you surround yourself with people that keep holding you back? Some people in life you have to leave behind. Sometimes you can’t move forward with everyone that is currently in your life. And that is ok. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but everyone can’t go with you to where God is about to take you.

If the thought of giving up ever cross your mind, remember Philippians 4:13.
