Have you been tested?

Testing for COVID-19

Can you all believe that I had a Covid-19 test? I didn’t show any symptoms, but in some cases, there won’t be any. I had previously been out a lot, and if you know me, you know I’m a people person. It doesn’t take much for me to get out of the house, but I started to stay in more when talks of the Covid-19 virus blew up. I decided to pay close attention and educate myself on this virus!

So what made me get a test? I wanted to know the results. I didn’t have any anxiety; I was curious. Like my mother would say, “I don’t think I have it, and if I do, I’m still going to trust God.” After my pastor announced that our church was going to do free testing for the entire community, I was eager to get tested with my family.

If you want me to be honest, I was nervous on the day to get my test. I was thinking about how it would feel and how long my results would come back. It was honestly not bad at all. Getting tested was simple. It was a drive-through first come first serve free test!

I was able to get both tests! There are two types of Covid-19 test. I took the viral test and the antibody test. The viral test would show if I had the current infection, and the antibody test could tell if I had a previous infection. As our car drove up, I was ready for both.

Although the test didn’t hurt, it was a little uncomfortable. Overall I’m glad I went to take the tests. So after taking the test, I went on being safe and practicing staying in. The results finally came in after waiting and being patient; it took 72 hours to get my results back. After all the waiting, my family and I all had negative test results on both the Covid-19 test! God is good, but even with good results, we refuse to slip.

Fast Forward, I’m now getting out more. With getting out, I’m still not going to slip! It’s essential to keep my hands washed and hand sanitizer always in my reach! Mask on at all times! With so many masks, it’s easy to get one! Others have been donating facial masks and also making them to sale! I pray everyone reading this blog stays safe and know that this virus won’t last forever.
