Dating in my twenties have been full of lessons, blessings, smiles, adventures, heartbreaks, and more. I must say it’s been a time! So, while dating in my twenties, I decided to write a post about it! Dive in and see what all I have to say about dating in my twenties. Maybe you can relate to some points.
Does Age Really Matter? Ha. I will say it does and it doesn’t. I have dated someone older and younger than me. I wouldn’t feel comfortable dating someone my dad’s age or someone that is super young. I really don’t see myself dating someone younger than twenty years old if I can keep it real. The guys I’ve dated have all been mature for the most part! Both the younger and older guys.
Am I dating just to date? Maybe when I was younger, but at this point of my life, NO! The end goal for me is marriage. Once God introduces me to my king, dating comes to an end for me. It’s easy to wait, I can do that. But, I’m responsible and know my boundaries when I’m dating someone. In other words, there are things I will and won’t do while I’m dating someone.
Have I got my heartbroken while dating? Yes. Ladies I want to warn you not to treat someone you’re dating like your husband. Sometimes as women, we can get so attached to someone that when it ends, it hurts. In other words, you wanted them to be the future hubby. The crazy thing is that sometimes falling for someone while dating can cause confusion. Looking back, it’s best to make sure you and the person you’re dating is on the same page.
I’m not for everybody. Although I’m young, I have standards. While dating, keep your standards and don’t say yes to every meal or going out with a random. Yes, a random is someone that you’re giving your energy to that you know isn’t good for you at all. Be careful when dating. Some people can bring in happiness and others can cause chaos.
I’m ending with saying cheers to dating in my twenties. It feels good to know my standards, have fun, and also run into my future husband soon or later aka God’s timing. Don’t be afraid to meet new people in your single season, just make sure to keep it safe and set boundaries.
