Brown Strong travels to Washington, D.C.!

What is Brown Strong? Let me tell you! It’s a name I created for me, my mother, and my sister! It’s kind of like our own little group. The name came about after the death of my dad. This year we decided to touch down in Washington D.C.

Washington, D.C. has been good to us! I enjoyed every inch of my time in the big city! I enjoyed the classy people, museums, food, and weather! August was definitely a great time to visit! We went for just a few days, but they were all long and worth it.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites Downtown! I would definitely recommend it! The hotel workers were awesome! The rooms are spacious, happy hour, great breakfast and super close to everything! I walked outside and saw classy people everywhere!

Museums are worth it! All of the ones I went to were free except the Bible Museum. I would honestly say the Museum of African American History & Culture was my favorite! Shout out to my boyfriend for getting us free tickets! It’s one of the top museums in Washington D.C. The other museums I visited include the National Gallery of Arts, National History, and Bible. Honestly there were still more to visit on my next trip.

National Museum of African American History and Culture
Museum of the Bible
Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History
National Gallery of Art

Places to see include Chinatown, The White House, The Wharf, National Harbor, and Martin Luther King Memorial. First let me say Chinatown had me in tears and smiles! Tears came from hearing the voice of an unknown man singing a change is going to come by Sam Cooke! That was my dad and I favorite song. I smiled at the sweet memories and fun that I experienced in Chinatown. I must warn you, at night it does get dangerous. The Martin Luther King Memorial gave me peace and happiness! I enjoyed everything about it and all of his famous quotes!

The Wharf and National Harbor was fun! I must say I enjoyed the National Harbor more. Both had excellent food and things to do and see! Can you believe I also went to my first MCM hotel and casino! It was a mini taste of Vegas for me.

The food was a 10/10 and the weather was beautiful! If you’re thinking about going to Washington D.C, I say do it! This beautiful city has so much to see! I honestly wish I could have had more days! Next time, I plan to go to more museums and visit Howard University!!

So what’s next for me? More fun and inspiration is on my calendar. I can’t wait to post more! Like I love to say, “Are you living or existing?”
