Over the weekend, I went to a powerful church event that was filled with classy women, all hungry to fellowship and hear a word from God. I looked around the room and all I saw was different women at different tables. I was currently sitting at the table with powerful, beautiful, and positive women! I not only felt comfortable, but also happy. Looking around the room I saw many smiles and joy on the faces of women who all sat at different tables. While in this room, the feeling of negativity wasn’t present, and every woman I saw represented class.

The W.O.W Derby event made me realize it’s so important to pay attention to who’s sitting at the table with me and be vigilant with the places that I enter. With being a woman of God, it’s so important to take notes of who I choose to hang with and the places I decide to go. Everyone isn’t your friend, so why sit with certain people and pretend? As a woman of God, I love everyone, but I also know my worth. In life, I can treat people kind and encourage others, but I don’t want to be around negative people, liars, and those who are trying to bring me down. Being careful with who you share your space with is so important. Do those you hang around build you up or take you down? Does your table gossip or pray? Sometimes, how you feel reflects the table that you’re at.

I’m not saying don’t sit with sinners, because we all have sinned. I’m saying be around those who can get up from sin or simply those who you can aspire to get closer to God. Don’t let the devil come in when God gave you all kinds of red flags. I dare you to look closer into your circle and ask yourself, “Who’s at my table?”
