Finding Joy While Waiting

“but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint”. Isaiah 40:31

Today is a rainy day, but with all the rain came comfort. I looked outside and I smiled because I knew soon a rainbow would appear. If I didn’t see it, I knew the sun would start to shine again. Similar to things we anticipate, waiting can feel prolonged and discouraging at times, yet there can be happiness in the process. Discovering joy while waiting involves recognizing the nature of God, understanding that you are aligned with God’s timing, and believing that the awaited outcome will be rewarding.

When you know what God’s word says, it makes waiting so much easier. Stop listening to other people and listen to what God has to say! Waiting is a blessing and not a curse! Psalm 27:14, “Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD.” Knowing that God is a way maker, miracle worker, and promise keeper should spark joy inside of you! God hears your prayers, so don’t get weak while waiting! God always shows up right on time.

When you’re on God’s time you’re never late! Human time will make you feel like you’re super late but that’s why it is important to know that God already has planned your entire life! Stop trying to rush what God is trying to perfect and protect! Life seems to be pushing us super-fast at times or maybe we find ourselves trying to go ahead of God! Stop and let God take the wheel! He knows what we desire so wait and be thankful.

It’ll be worth the wait! After you wait for something so big, once you get it, you’ll feel refreshed! You will have clarity and overflow will start to fill you up until whatever is is,can’t control itself anymore! If you think waiting is hard, stop and think about how amazing the reward will feel! This isn’t the time to give up, it’s the time to celebrate and prepare for whatever it is that you’re waiting for! I dare you to start smiling because waiting on God will bless your life!

 Waiting in the rain may seem endless, but I take comfort in the anticipation of the blessings that will follow even during this downpour. Just as we wait for things, a rainbow and sunshine will appear at the perfect moment! Reflecting on a memory of dancing in the rain in NYC in 2018 when I earned my bachelor’s degree, I aim to find joy in this period of anticipation!
