Prayer is so important to me. Looking back over my life, if it wasn’t for prayer, I honestly don’t know where I would be. I remember as a young child, my parents would pray over me. I remember my sister praying over me, and I also remember the prayers I received from my grandma and close friends. When we use prayer, God not only hears us, He starts working things out for our good. Like Dottie Peoples said in one of her songs, “He’s an on-time God!” Prayer does so much for us, but here are a few things I hope you always remember: prayer gives us a deeper connection with God, protects us, provides for us, and most importantly, prayer molds us into who we are today!
Who wouldn’t want a deeper connection with God? I personally do. When we pray, we connect with God. We are communicating with him and also seeking him for answers. Communicating with God will deepen our relationship with him. He cares about us and wants to hear from us. Don’t ever think God is too busy for you; he loves you. I encourage you to start praying more and make time to hear from him.
Protection is something we all need. Prayer has protected me from being killed, hateful people, and the list goes on! It might sound wild, but when you think back over your life, think about what could have or should have happened to you if you didn’t pray or have someone praying for you. I remember waking up to my husband feeling like Covid or the flu was trying to attack my body and lungs. With one simple prayer, I felt like a brand new person after getting out of the shower. Sometimes all it takes is one prayer to make a difference.
Prayer provides for us. When you don’t feel as if you have enough, watch how God blesses you randomly, sometimes by putting people in positions to bless you unexpectedly. He provides for us with food, clothes, shelter, and the list goes on. Always remember you have more than enough when you choose to pray and are humble enough to ask God for more.
Lastly, prayer molds us into who we are today. Pray and ask God for clear directions. Ask Him to help you walk into the calling over your life. Pray to God about all your desires and dreams. Pray about your present and your future. The woman you plan to be, ask God to mold you into that woman, and He will start talking to you and help you become the best you can be.
Never stop praying, because God wants to hear from you.
Such a powerful blog post. I hope a lot of people read this.
