Keep Being Patient

Waiting can be irritating, especially when you want something now. If I can be honest, when I usually want something, I want it quickly. I’ve realized that life doesn’t happen at the snap of my fingers. After texting a close friend of mine, she replied with something so simple yet meaningful. “Trust God and keep being patient, he’s faithful, and when your ways continue to delight in him, he will give you the desires of your heart.” At that moment, I felt instant peace.

After peace comes actions, not only saying we trust God, it’s time to start showing it. These actions include not complaining, letting go of worries, and not hating on the success of others. While being patient, eliminate stress and complain less, as they would say in Jamaica, “No Worries,” and continue to cheer others on while trusting God to answer your prayers. God hears what you want and need; it’s in this season when God wants to see, can you wait on him.

It’s easy to say God’s timing is the best, but what good is saying that if we don’t believe it? I can honestly say that looking back over my life, God’s timing is the best because I wouldn’t have been ready to receive different blessings when they came to me. I’ve come to realize that being patient is a blessing. Although I did want things quickly, my past showed me that my timing could lead to unwanted problems and frustration. God’s timing always brought smiles and peace.

Wait on the Lord. Being patient is a blessing because it teaches us how to wait on the Lord. He will show up, and I do believe that he will show out. Instead of pouting, it’s time to start walking, talking, and praising God in advance. It’s a lot of things myself, and others I know are waiting to receive. So what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for a new car, an increase in your finances, a relationship, or a breakthrough? Whatever you’re waiting for, keep being patient, and know God is always on time.
