Protect Your Peace

The older I get I see it’s so important to protect my peace. By avoiding certain people, situations, and things, I feel better. I live my life with joy, happiness, and smiles. One of the ways I do this is pushing out anything or anyone that comes against my peace. Protecting my peace includes avoiding gossip, hitting the block button, saying no, and not putting myself in toxic situations.

Gossiping use to be so juicy when I was younger. Now, I don’t like to surround myself with people that love the taste of gossip. Sometimes gossiping can take up so much energy and time that peace is flying right out the window. Gossiping also cause confusion and chaos which can interrupt peace. Why waste time talking about others, when you can be enjoying the peace God has brought in your life? Talking less will protect you and block out negativity.

Hit the block button! I block weekly! Simply because there are a lot of scammers (fake people), drama, and bad news that try to cloud my peace.  On social media, I no longer desire to entertain or accept the foolishness. I block people in real life. Yes, I seek to love everyone, but I also don’t want anything or anyone to affect my peace.

Just Say No! Whew, I use to be a yes girl. Saying no can be so peaceful. I use to always want to be in every place and please everyone, but certain people and situations didn’t always bring me peace. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, irritated and tired when the response is always yes. If saying yes is going to bring stress, just say no.

Lastly, blocking myself from different situations to protect my peace is necessary. Staying away from anything that cause confusion and chaos is important. These situations can include arguments, and tension when being in certain rooms or around certain people. Avoiding toxic situations is one of the reasons you always see me joyful! If it’s toxic, it’s not for me.
