Going into this new week, I had to unfollow some celebrities, think about some friendships, and ask myself if I’m going to be like them or more like Jesus. We must be careful, because what we see and admire, we could start to idolize. Being like others can break the authentic you and cause you to forget who God has called you to be! It’s time to wake up and stop trying to look, act, or be like others! God made you different!
You are unique! “For you, formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well” (Psalm 139:13-14). Make sure you don’t abandon yourself to try and be like anyone else! Nobody can walk like you, talk like you, or be like you. Never forget how rare you are. The only person I desire to be like is Jesus.
Yes, role models are cool, but don’t idolize them! Also, are your role models good or bad? I say this because who you lookup to can bring you up or down! Be wise with those you surround yourself with! Be carefully who you look up too and have strong discernment.
Guard your heart! Others will try and tell you what you should be doing and how you should look.! Please know the truth and guard your heart from people who don’t have your best interest. Trust God and be thankful for how he created you. Never let others make you feel like you’re not good enough!
Whatever you do, know that God made you how you are for a reason. Don’t be like them, be satisfied being you!
Excellent blog! It’s so important to remember to be who God called us to be. Walk in purpose! Trust God!
