Stay In the Race

Growing up, I remember running down my auntie’s street, trying to outrun my two guy cousins! One cousin would always win and  my other cousin and I would always finish at the same time. During these races, I would often get distracted, dirty, and tired! Regardless of those things, I kept on running to eventually win. I don’t know about you, but I feel like it’s so important to stay in the race. This race I’m talking about is to honor God and go after every blessing that God has for you.

Distractions will come, but don’t let them stop you. A lot of times when trying to move forward, I get easily distracted by social media, laziness, or simply wanting to watch movies all day! It’s time to stop with a lot of distractions when staying in the race. It’s a time for everything, but make sure you don’t lose your focus. Keep doing what God has called you to do and reach towards every finish line.

You might get dirty, I have. My life hasn’t always been clean. We all have said somethings and got dirty with not only our words but also our actions! I have been some places I shouldn’t have gone, did somethings I shouldn’t have done, but I never got out the race! We all have sinned, but God.

Don’t you dare get tired and give up! The Lord is your strength. A lot of times I wanted to go back to my old ways! I wanted to fit in, but God kept telling to keep walking with him to see where I would end up! I don’t know about you, but I wanted to keep walking with God because he will never leave me, and his protection is enough to keep going!


So I encourage you to stay in the race. God is going to bless you, and all your goals will be met in Jesus’ name. Don’t let directions stop you! Don’t let getting dirty stop you, and please don’t get tired. The best is yet to come.
