Pretty with A Pretty Heart

As I sit here and think about the differences I make in the lives of others, I smile. I think about the handicap man who others didn’t want to help. I think about those who didn’t speak English, and I gave them my full attention. I think about those I gave money to without anyone knowing. It’s one thing to be pretty, but when you have a pretty heart, it makes a major difference.

How are you making a difference? You never know what other people are going through, so you might as well be kind. Daily, I have people tell me that I am just so nice. I tell them I try to be, but to be honest, it comes naturally. It’s simply the God in me. We never know what others are struggling with. We might as well be the light in dark places.

Being pretty with an ugly attitude makes you look bitter and not sweet. Did you know treating others good can make you feel good as well? I remember the days in the past when I didn’t feel my best but when I treated others good, it turned my mood around.  All I’m trying to say is don’t treat people badly and having a stinky attitude is never cute. A pretty heart always operates with love.

People notice how you treat others and how you treat yourself. Every job that I have, I always treat people how I want to be treated. Ask yourself what others are probably saying about you. You might not care but trust me, having a pretty heart is worth it. I was once told by someone, “Aeriel, you’re just way too nice.” I looked at that same person and I said, “I used to not be like this, but thank God that he has changed me.” Once you get a taste of God, you have no choice but to treat people well.

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you”. John 15:12
