Happiness Looks Good on You

A female looked at me and said, “Happiness looks good on you.” Maybe it was my smile? Or it could have been my positive attitude. It’s amazing how others can see the joy inside of me. The best part about it is that I not only look happy, but I feel happy too! I decided to write this blog with the five keys to unlock the happiness in you.

1. Start your morning with God first! I love waking up and thanking God for a new day. I enjoy my journal sessions with God, and  my morning worship! I set my mind on peace and protection before I enter my day! Knowing God has your back can instantly bring on happiness.

2. Dress your best and pick yourself up! When you look good, you feel good. Think about when you get your hair or nails done! Maybe it’s something small like wearing a new shirt or dress. When you leave the house feeling confident in your appearance, it can bring on much happiness. If you don’t believe me, try it. I promise you will notice a difference.

3. Forgive daily and stop holding grudges! Life is too important to let what others do ruin your every day. Let go and pick your happiness back up. Forgiveness can bring peace and joy. Stop holding on and let God cover and heal your scars!

4. Be a blessing to others! When we help people, it brings on satisfaction and joy. I remember blessing a little girl with a pair of sunglasses after asking her parents first, and it made my entire day better. Just seeing her smile and confidence gave me joyfulness.

5. Self-care is important! Take a hot shower, long bubble bath, or simply spend alone time making sure you’re ok, mentally and physically. Whatever self-care looks like to you, do it! Make sure you’re not only making others happy, but you’re taking care of yourself as well.

You might not do all of those things I listed above, but trust me, they do work. Today is a great day to choose happiness.
