How to Respond to your Enemies This Fall

In life, you will have an enemy or two! I decided to write this blog on four ways to respond to your enemies this Fall.

1. Love them anyway
Hurt people might hurt people but only if you allow damaged people to hurt you! I smiled at a woman when she told me how another female was jealous of me. I looked at her and said, “I already knew, but I love her anyway!” Don’t hate or dislike those who are your enemies, love them and show them that you won’t come down to their level. Love is so powerful, so why not splash some on your enemies? “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” -Matthew 5:44

2. Focus more on God and less on your enemies
Stop worrying about what the enemy is doing and start focusing more on God. Little does your enemies know, the more you focus on God, the more your enemies won’t be able to get to you. Don’t you know the Lord will make your enemies your footstool? “The LORD says to my lord: ‘Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”. – Psalm 110:1

3. Don’t match their energy
One thing about me, I’m going to stay upbeat and in a positive mood. I’m going to be happy and smile a lot. I refuse to frown or look at life as if it’s a burden. Pushing good energy is way more important than being negative. Let your light inspire them and always treat them how you would want to be treated.

4. Let your kindness confuse them
Be kind and always speak even to those who might not speak back. Confuse the enemy with your kind spirit and pure speech. Don’t let them see you slip. Be kind and stay at the top. Like a quote I once saw, “Throw kindness around like confetti!” When the enemy tries to stir up mess, keep being kind and let God fight your battles.

In conclusion, Michelle Obama said it best, “When they go low, we go high.”
