Daddy’s Little Girl: It’s Almost Father’s Day

Memories with Dad

It’s almost Father’s Day, and I asked God for a blog post to write. I knew this would be the perfect post in remembrance of you. My dad was not only a great father, but also a man who didn’t judge, worked hard, and always wanted the best for mom, my sister and me. There are many things I remember about my father, but there are three I wanted to highlight today.

My dad always lifted me up when I felt weak. When I thought I couldn’t do something he challenged me to do it anyway. When I thought I wasn’t smart enough he pushed me to read and work harder. Looking back and knowing now my dad always brought out the best in me.

My dad went over and beyond for me; he always got me the best and taught me that quality is better than quantity. He stayed up late to ensure I was home safe, spent time with me, and blessed me by paying for my entire college education. Not only did he give me the things I wanted, but he also spent time with me.

My dad was the type of man who was intelligent and strong. He was a leader to others, and when people tried to tear him down, it wouldn’t work. I was so proud that he was in the Air Force. Honestly, that’s why I love the military so much. My dad was a military man who showed great strength and wisdom.

Before this Father’s Day weekend begins, I want to honor you again, Dad. You mean everything to me, and although you’re no longer here, I strive daily to make you proud.
